Dunkdog was a website that tracked and ranked basketball players in a highschool age league. Using WordPress, custom post types were created and linked together in order to facillitate the player and team database and rankings.
Player post types utilized categories as data points such as height, weight, position and class to link to similar players. Using the Advanced Custom Fields plugin a player could be assigned to teams for high school, travel or announced college teams.
News articles or live event coverage could mention players by name and these news articles would show up at the bottom of the named player’s profile page.
Player and team rankings per year would be created, and players could be ranked across all positions or as a specified position.
